Karen's career in marketing communications began in 1980 as she organized and produced fundraising and special events for various minority and non-profit organizations. In 1992 she moved into the high technology industry and began working for Silicon Valley Group as part of their investor relations group. By December 2000 she had become Director of Corporate Events for Sybase, Inc. In June 2001 she became Vice President of Marketing with Leave a Little Room Foundation. With an MBA and a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Management from the University of San Francisco and the completion of San Jose State's Marketing Communications program, Karen has been able to blend her education in marketing, business and technology with her experience in marketing communications.
